Our National Philanthropy

In 1998, alpha Kappa Delta Phi launched its first-ever National Service project. Through our 22 chapter effort, we dedicated the year of 1998-99 to Breast Cancer Awareness by educating ourselves, our college campuses, and our communities. Through the efforts of our active sisters and alumnae, we were able to raise over $250,000 throughout the years for breast cancer research. In addition to raising funds, awareness is spread on all our campus communities through service projects, workshops, informational booths, or forums.

The mission of alpha Kappa Delta Phi's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is three-fold:

  • To raise funds on a national level to contribute to a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer through the sale of the popular Pink Ribbon pins

  • To dedicate at least one Service Event per chapter/colony to Breast Cancer Awareness in October

  • To develop a comprehensive page on our national website that provides links to breast cancer resources

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022

In 2022 of Fall Semester, the Alpha Alpha Chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness carnival! Food, games, and prizes were presented in colorful displays! Participants munched on mochi donuts and drank some delicious Thai tea or play "Bra Pong", all while donating to the cause.

"Planning BCA Carnival this year taught me so many valuable lessons about organizing events and fundraising. It was a great experience having people come and support our philanthropy in a fun and interactive way! The outcome was so rewarding and I’m happy that we had the opportunity to make a small difference!"
