Who Is Recruitment For?

Anyone. If you are interested in learning what Greek life is all about we completely encourage you to get to know us. Though we are an Asian-interest sorority, we do not limit ourselves to just those of Asian heritage. We welcome anyone of all races, lifestyles, age, grade, state or country. Across the nation, we have a great diversity of ethnicities outside the Asian culture including African-Americans, Caucasians, and Latino-Americans. Asian-interest simply means that you envision the same goals and care about the same issues. We also encourage any incoming freshmen who are adjusting to college life and just want to meet new people!

What Is Recruitment?

Recruitment is a time period to get to know what the sorority is all about, our goals, and what it means to us, as well as to get to know the sisters of the sorority through events hosted by us. It's a time to just relax and have fun, get to know new people with no obligations or commitments. All events are free and optional for interested individuals. We encourage any individuals with even a little interest to come check out the largest nationwide Asian-American interest sorority in the nation!

Date: Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Time: 6 pm

Location: Marshall Center Ballroom

All recruitment events are FREE and rides are provided.

There is absolutely NO OBLIGATION

for coming out and having FUN!

** Must attend a convocation meeting in order to

participate in ANY Greek organization

membership process at USF **

How Do I Qualify For An Interview/Bid?

In order to qualify for an interview/bid, which is a formal invitation to join our sisterhod, an interested individual must attend one informational, two social events, and convocation.

Is It Mandatory To Attend All Recruitment Events?

If you are serious about joining aKDPhi, you are definitely encouraged to attend all recruitment events from beginning to end. Again this is a chance to ask questions, get to know the sisters, and for them to get to know you. The more events you participate in the better both parties are able to determine whether this sorority fits you. We do require interested individuals to attend at least one informational and two events. This is to ensure that interested individuals understand what aKDPhi stands for, what you can bring to the sorority, and what it can give you.

Do I Have To Be Asian To Join?

No. We are an Asian American interest sorority that focuses on the promotion of Asian cultural awareness.

We, the sisters of aKDPhi, pride ourselves on building strong and lasting friendships with girls from many diverse backgrounds.

What is the GPA Requirement?

We do require that all members maintain an overall GPA of 2.6 and to be a full time USF Tampa student.

What Is Expected Of A New Member?

The purpose of sorority education consists of education about the sorority and chapter. New members should demonstrate a desire and ability to support alpha Kappa Delta Phi's sorority standards. Hazing, defined as "any action taken or situation created to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule," is not condoned nor tolerated.
